Introducing Monroe Chiropractor Dr. Tom Thompson

I was injured at work and could barely get up and walk. I was told to try going to a chiropractor and did. I was nervous at first but after my first adjustment I could straighten up and walk. I was amazed.

Monroe Chiropractor, Dr. Tom ThompsonAfter my initial experience with going to a chiropractor I was interested in looking at chiropractic as a career. I found my way back to chiropractic after the death of my father. You realize that life is finite and that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. After being in corporate america for 7 years I started over with my wife, Melissa at my side and here I am. I love getting up every morning with the purpose of helping those that need me.

I attended University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a pre-chiropractic student. After two years I changed my major to a Bachelors of Business Administration with a Finance major.  After working in corporate america for over seven years I was unfulfilled with my career and decided to make the leap of faith back to my first career choice, chiropractic.

After completing the few remaining classes I needed I enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. I graduated in the fall of 1995 with Cum Laude honors. Since graduation I have continued my education with chiropractic adjusting technique courses in Pro-Adjuster, Torque Release and Gonstead. I have also done extensive nutritional work attaining my certificate in Nutritional Counseling from the State of Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.

We're a family oriented practice and offer both relief and wellness care. Many patients begin care in our office with a specific health concern and then realize that chiropractic is all about optimal health ...how to get well faster and stay well longer.

I have been married to Melissa since 1987. We have 3 boys, Noah (13), Tanner (11) and Evan (8). Our boys have been adjusted from the time they were 1 hour old.

Dr. Thompson Asks some important questions of interest to Monroe residents - Chiropractor Monroe Dr. Thompson Asks...

How do you know when you're healthy?
Ask most Monroe residents this simple question and you're likely to hear, "When you feel good" or "When you're at your proper weight for your height" or "When you have lots of energy and vitality." Great answers. But our chiropractic patients know that true health is when your body is working as it was designed. True health is how you function, not how you feel.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Monroe chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
